This year we did our first awards evening for npower and the English Federation for Disabled Sport. TAZ films provided the crews to film the event and produced Video News Release tapes for local media. We also made five short films of some of the main disabled athletes involved. These were shown on the night and on Setanta and ITV midlands news.

TAZ films also has a good relationship with leading skin care specialists DEB and when they wanted a film to mark the closing of an old factory and the opening of a new one it was TAZ films they asked to make it.

And we’ve now made two feature length DVDs for the worlds largest motorcycle club the VMCC. These have been so successful we’re now looking at doing a third next year

We made a Mazda brand film in full HD for X2 productions that was shown at the British Motor Show.

John Boam’s Broadcast Projects
It’s been another busy twelve months for broadcast work. Amongst other things I was the Series Director on ITV’s popular motoring show Pulling Power.

I produced, directed and edited a documentary with Pete Waterman on the Beeching Cuts for BBC1/BBC4.

I travelled to the edge of the Arctic Circle to film an oilrig in the middle of the North Sea for a documentary that I produced and directed for Discovery Europe. It’s part of a new series presented by Jonny Smith called Industrial Junkie that’s being shown across the world.

And I’m currently working as a director on the UK’s number one factual entertainment programme Five’s all conquering The Gadget Show.

I was one of the key producer/directors on series two and three of National Geographic’s family science show I Didn’t Know That. This series was a great success for Nat Geo and has been shown in over a hundred countries around the world.

Saving Planet Earth West Midlands Edition – Presented by Toyah Wilcox, this documentary about the plight of the UK’s wildlife was written, produced, and directed, by John for the BBC.

5th Gear, During his career John has worked on many motoring related projects. Here’s one he made earlier, it features a 4X4 pulling a Jumbo!
